Annual exercise: ‘New budget reflects CM’s vision’

Those present on the occasion approved a budget of over Rs2.31 billion for the new fiscal year

LAHORE: The annual budget of the Postgraduate Medical Institute (PGMI), the Lahore General Hospital (LGH) and the Ameerud Din Medical College and Nursing School for the fiscal year 2015-16 was approved on Sunday. A special meeting of the Board of Management was held in this regard under the chairmanship of General (r) Ziaud Din Khwaja. Those present on the occasion approved a budget of over Rs2.31 billion for the new fiscal year. LGH and PGMI Principal Khalid Mahmood said the new budget reflected the vision of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif as it ensured the provision of free treatment of patients. Mahmood said an amount to the tune of Rs340 million had been allocated to finance the provision of medicines to patients. He said a Rs14,000-scholarship would be provided to nursing students every month. Mahmood said Rs4.9 million had been allocated to finance honoraria for extraordinary employees. Mahmood said the funds would be utilised in a transparent manner.
