At least two people were killed while four others were injured in separate incidents in Upper Dir, Mingora and Tank on Thursday.
IED goes off
Three members of peace lashkar were injured while their driver was killed in an IED blast in Hajiabad, Dhog Darra in Upper Dir on Thursday afternoon. An official of Sheringal police told The Express Tribune Anwaruddin, Khan Zaman and Fazal Hakim, came under attack by unidentified militants. “An improvised explosive device went off near their car,” he said. “The driver was killed on the spot. The injured were shifted to a hospital. The vehicle was completely destroyed in the incident. Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan claimed responsibility for the attack.”
Mingora
In a separate incident, a teenager was gunned down in Odigram on the outskirts of Mingora on Wednesday night. Rahimabad police SHO told The Express Tribune the police suspected Shanzada was targeted.“The deceased was the brother of a police official,” he said. “Shanzada was leaving his house when he was shot twice by an unidentified person. The assailant managed to flee. Later, TTP claimed responsibility for killing Shanzada, saying he was spy on the banned militant outifit.”

Tank
Unidentified persons attacked a peace committee member in Gomel, Tank, a police official told The Express Tribune. According to the official, Muhammad Fayaz was shifted to a hospital in DI khan. “Six people had opened fire on him,” he added.
