Yakatoot police’s ASI Hussain Khan, who was shot and injured in Yasinabad a day earlier, succumbed to his injuries at Lady Reading Hospital on Thursday afternoon. A police official told The Express Tribune Hussain was on his way home after duty when unidentified people opened fire on his vehicle. “Akhtar Khan, Hussain’s driver had died on the spot while Hussain was critically wounded. Although he has no enemies, it seems like he was targeted. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Chamkani police station on Wednesday. Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan later claimed responsibility for the attack.
