ISLAMABAD: The under-construction Park Enclave housing project near Chak Shehzad was inspected by Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Maroof Afzal on Tuesday.

Officers from the relevant formations of the civic agency were also present for the visit.

The chairman directed to complete work on roads connecting Park Enclave with Kuri Road and Park Road, as the enclave is surrounded by a security wall, thus making road access to very important.

The relevant wings told the visiting senior officials that work on 33 out of the 44 roads is in final stages, with triple surface treatment on 33 roads having been completed. Streets in the enclave have been demarcated, while construction work on smaller roads is under way.

The construction of approach roads is also in the final stages, they said, adding a 150-foot wide, 1.5 kilometre long road from Kuri and Park Road is being constructed.

Three culverts at the housing project have also been completed, with work on drainage, water supply and a sewerage system under way, the authorities said.

To ensure uninterrupted water supply to the enclave, two new tube-wells have been installed, while four water tanks, two overhead and two underground, have also been built for the housing project.

The CDA chairman directed the authority to begin construction of an entry gate immediately.

He also directed for the deployment of additional manpower and heavy machinery to ensure development is completed within the stipulated time. The CDA’s environment wing has also been directed to start tree plantations.

Earlier, the CDA chairman and other senior officials also visited sector D-12 and reviewed development work there.
