KARACHI: The Sindh government is likely to initiate the registration of cases and inquiries against more than 200 town municipals officers, taluka and union council nazims and education officers on Wednesday. The action is going to be initiated over accusations of bungling billions of rupees, appointing fake employees and selling properties by tampering records. The decision will be made in the meeting of the Anti-Corruption and Establishment Committee (I), which will be chaired by chief secretary Mohammad Siddique Memon, on Wednesday. "There are a total of 216 pending inquiries in my office that pertain to various government departments," said the chairperson of the anti-corruption department. "After the recommendation of the committee, these officers can be arrested."
