Mine games: Ehtesab Commission arrests Ziaullah’s aide

Naheed was involved in illegal mining in the city

The Ehtesab Commission has recently arrested Naheed Khan, an aide of former K-P minister for mines and mineral development Ziaullah Afridi.


Officials privy to the development told The Express Tribune Naheed has been arrested from Abbottabad for allegedly misappropriating Rs1.2 billion in phosphate mining. “Naheed was involved in illegal mining in the city,” the official said.

He added the arrest was made after interrogation from Ziaullah who was arrested on July 9. At least nine other officials were also arrested over graft allegations. Afridi was taken into custody for misusing his authority and misappropriating funds.
