Across Sindh : Trust to start maternal, child healthcare work
This project will cover Kashmore, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Jamshoro, Badin, Thatta and Kambar-Shahdadkot districts.

A post-flood maternal and child healthcare project would be launched in seven districts of Sindh, officials of the National Trust for Population Welfare said on Thursday.
The trust’s chief executive officer, Ifikhar Durrani, and its programme and development director, Dr Nasser Mohyuddin, met the Sindh population welfare department officials to introduce the trust’s projects in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), which will be launched across the country.
The first project is for post-flood maternal and child healthcare, which will be carried out in 20 districts of Pakistan.
In Sindh, this project will cover Kashmore, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Jamshoro, Badin, Thatta and Kambar-Shahdadkot districts.
Another project the trust hopes to launch is the Literacy for Female Health Initiative. They will run the project with the National Commission for Human Development and organise sessions at the commission’s literacy centres.
The primary objective is to reach around 2.6 million women and men and to create awareness of safe parental care, child healthcare and personal hygiene.
The programme also aims to spread awareness about environmental issues including the importance of clean drinking water.
