ISLAMABAD: Delegates and volunteers from Canada, Germany, Denmark, US, Norway and United Kingdom attended a Christmas party organised by the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) on Thursday. Representatives of Turkish and Qatar Red Crescent Societies were also present.

Speaking on the occasion, PRCS Chairperson Senator Nilofar Bakhtiar wished all the participants a Merry Christmas and appreciated their humanitarian spirit in serving vulnerable people. She said that the party was a token of love for foreign volunteers and delegates, to show them that “we all share their happiness at this moment”.

A Christmas tree was also decorated and a cake was cut.

The PRCS Secretary General Muhammad Ilyas Khan also wished a Merry Christmas to all the participants. He said that the party was hosted to share the joys of Christmas with the volunteers and delegates who are miles away from their families.

In return, the delegates and volunteers thanked the PRCS for hosting the party. They said that though they were celebrating the Christmas away from their families, but the spirit of serving others, who are in need, made them happy. “We feel glad because we are contributing to alleviate the suffering of the vulnerable,” said a volunteer.
