Senator Mushahidullah clarifies ISI plot claims to PM

Mushahidullah submits resignation in person to PM Nawaz; premier to decide whether to accept resignation or not

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)'s Information Secretary Senator Mushahidullah Khan called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday to officially tender his resignation as Federal Minister for Climate Change and explain his comments against the country’s premier intelligence agency.

“Mushahidullah Khan has tendered his resignation as Federal Minister for Climate Change,” spokesperson for the PM House confirmed. “However, Mushahidullah Khan will continue to work as a senator and PML-N’s information secretary.”

According to sources, the premier will later decide whether to accept the resignation of the senior party leader or not.

Earlier, the PML-N senior leader, who has recently arrived from a visit to Maldives, gave an explanation to the prime minister regarding his recent interview to the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), claiming that the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) had plotted to topple the civil and military leadership during the PTI sit-ins last year.

Meanwhile, Mushahidullah’s resignation has divided the PML-N leaders into two factions, claimed party officials, terming his resignation a ‘sacrifice’.

Earlier on Friday, the prime minister had asked the senator to explain the basis of his remarks.

Further, DG ISPR General Asim Bajwa had also termed any reports about a “tape” as baseless rumours. “The story about any tape recording as being discussed in media is totally baseless, unfounded and farthest from truth,” Bajwa had said, adding, “Such rumours are irresponsible and unprofessional.”

Later on Saturday, Information Minister Pervez Rashid announced that Mushahidullah had sent his resignation to the prime minister from Maldives, adding that he would provide an explanation to the premier upon his arrival.

In an interview to the BBC Urdu at the first anniversary of the sit-ins, Federal Minister for Climate Change Mushahidullah Khan had said the conspiracy was foiled after a civilian intelligence agency, Intelligence Bureau (IB), intercepted a call of then ISI chief Lieutenant General Zaheerul Islam who was allegedly giving instruction to create chaos during the sit-ins and take control of the PM House.

On the other side Indian Hindus business partners and so called Pakistani Politicians are creating such filthy drama to black mail Pakistan ARMY. What a coordination and similarity of actions between Indian Hindus and Pakistani Politicians? How familiar they seemed to be to each other's actions and counter actions? Can't we say that it's all being coordinated jointly?

khawar | 9 years ago | Reply You all are missing the point, Gen Zaheer was removed at the height of civil unrest, Imran and Qadri were pointing to the third empire, the night when Imran and Qadri were summoned to COAS house both were glimmering with some much better outcome, PTV building was overrun by the mob, outer fence of parliament house was breached only thing which was missing was countless casualties so that the so-called third EMPIRE could enter the arena. Imran and Qadri got away with it but the lust for power is still there and the way present government's policies are running don't rule out the second coming. PAKISTAN ALWAYS.

I am sure he doesn't even knows what it actually is, and what actions should be taken to overcome this problem. And this Allah Dad sab is situation with almost every minister in PMLN, just to name a few Rana Sanaullah (Links with LeJ) and he is Law minister, Abid Sher Ali has absolutely no idea what water and power is and yet he is holding such an important ministry! Above all the IRONY is, people here support these mindless parties and ministers.

Pakistan is also one of the polluted country, victim of its neighbours esp. India and China who are burning coal and creating green house gasses, destroying our climate but bringing harm to whole world. Maldives will become history within decades and cities like Karachi, Mumbai will be destroyed in future. Don't you observe flash floods, zero visibility fogs for weeks and acute shortage of forests and precious water.

It seems Kasur's incident was sensible for you, two Mian Bradaraan ruling for 30 years is sensible, distribution of important ministries among close relatives is sensible, the whole Punjab couldn't elect a better CM even having a huge population is sensible. I am not a PTI fan, but I don't see any difference between Imran and Nawaz, just that this country hasn't experienced Imran yet.

How else is honesty defined? I live in Karachi which is very much part of Pakistan and I happen to be Senator Mushahidullah Khan's constituent who voted for him back in 2002 and 2008.

Now that drama has failed and judicial inquiry has proven PTI wrong so they should apologize to the nation, for causing so much damage to economyand, wasting time and should reveal the whole truth to pakistani public about sinister plan to oust democratic government using unconstitutional means.
