Terrorism charges: Al Qaeda member gets life term
A hand-grenade and 10 kilogrammes of explosives were seized from him

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) awarded life term on Saturday to Khurram Shahzad, a resident of Rawalpindi. He was arrested by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) from Lorry Adda on May 13. A hand-grenade and 10 kilogrammes of explosives were seized from him. According to prosecution, Shahzad told the CTD that he had planted a bomb in the washroom of a bus stand. The bomb was then disarmed. The CTD said that Shahzad was an Al Qaeda member and was involved in smuggling of arms, ammunition and explosives.
