Operations DIG Haider Ashraf on Saturday suspended five policemen from service over allegations of stealing motorcycle parts.
The action was taken after reports emerged that they had stolen power plugs of several motorcycles belonging to candidates who were undergoing physical tests in Jubilee Town for the posts of constables.
Hammad Raza, the PRO to the DIG, said that Ashraf had taken notice of the reports and suspended from service SI Asghar, ASI Taufeeq, Head Constable Shakeel and Constables Safdar and Sarfraz. Chuhng SHO Javed Siddiq has also been issued a show cause notice.
