Deadly attack : Three security guards found dead

The deceased were employed by a company located near Korangi Creek.

Three security guards were found dead on the outskirts of the metropolis on Friday. The guards were deployed at a woodcraft company located near Korangi Creek, within the limits of Ibrahim Hyderi.

The bodies were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre and, after the completion of medico-legal formalities were, handed over to their families.

Police officials said that two of the security guards were Hindu, Popat, 30, and Tulsi, 35, and the third one was a Muslim, Usman, 25. The company remained close on Friday due to Independence Day but, the three security guards were deployed as per their routine when the incident occurred, said a police official. The security guards were shot multiple times, he added.


DSP Rao Iqbal said that the bodies of the two Hindu men were found in one room while Usman's body was in a separate room. The police obtained a footage recorded by the CCTV cameras, which had some technical fault. The police are trying to repair it to get the footage. Police officials said that guards' two repeater guns and a pistol also went missing. No official case has been registered while further investigation is underway.

Earlier a young man was found dead within the limits of New Karachi police station. The deceased has yet to be identified. SHO Ghaffar Korai said that it seems that unidentified persons killed the victim after kidnapping him. The man was tortured and then shot in the head, he added.

The body was moved to Edhi morgue in Sohrab Goth for identification.
