PESHAWAR: An accountability court granted the 12-day remand of the former chief minister’s adviser Syed Masoom Shah on Wednesday.

The former special assistant was arrested by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s National Accountability Bureau on Tuesday and charged with accumulating wealth beyond his known sources of income.

NAB prosecutor Danyal Chamkani said the official misused his position in the previous government and illegally obtained property worth millions of rupees in Hayatabad, Warsak Road and Zaryab Colony in the city as well as in Bahria Town Rawalpindi-Islamabad and Defence Housing Authority, Karachi.

After hearing the arguments, the court granted the 12-day physical remand of the suspect to NAB.
