A fan tweeted to Rowling asking, perhaps a little sardonically, about the possibility of a Harry Potter-based TV show:
“So like... We had seven books and 8 movies. We are getting a play and 3 spin-off movies. Where is our TV Show,” a follower asked, perhaps a little sarcastically, on Twitter.

Rowling's response slayed all anticipation, hinting that there were already enough spin-offs in the works.

With her books being the all the rage among her readers it’s hard to believe that there won't be an expanding franchise leading to a TV show.
A Harry Potter prequel of sorts, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will hit cinemas next year, starring Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, the wizard author of the titular book.

Last week, it emerged that Colin Farrell will also appear in the film.
