Around 25,900 dengue-related visits have been carried out around the city in the last year by the Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) Directorate of Health Services, according to a spokesperson for the authority.

On Sunday, a meeting was held at CDA headquarters to review measure taken by the authority against the virus in the last year. According to a news release, the directorate is said to have distributed over 14,000 brochures and 200,000 pamphlets to the public under public awareness campaigns, while also displaying over 500 banners with preventive steps against the virus in different part of the capital.

The meeting was chaired by the authority’s Member Administration Amir Ali Ahmed, who was apprised of current mapping and spraying initiatives in affected areas of the capital.

The member instructed the directorates of health services and enforcement to further inform the public of preventive measures against the disease, and warned of stern consequences for the agencies should they fall short.
