FAISALABAD:

Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Vice Chairman Irfan Manan said on Sunday that a bottled water plant would become functional from August 14.

Talking to The Express Tribune, he said Japanese engineers had completed the construction work. He said workers at the plan were being trained.

He said WASA’s bottled water would cost less than bottled water in the market. He said the quality of water would be according to World Health Organisation (WHO) standards.

Manan said the WASA had set up eight franchises across the city where the bottled water would be distributed.

He said the plant could produce 150 bottles in an hour.
