Meera to mark Independence Day in Norway
Actor busy working on scripts of her upcoming productions and dream hospital in Sialkot
LAHORE:
Meera seems to have her eyes set on the horizon despite recent setbacks. According to her father Sarwar Shah, she will be chief guest at an event organised by the Pakistani embassy in Norway on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day. Meera, who is on vacation with family in Paris, said she’s visiting the country to plan for her upcoming film projects as well.
Having recently forayed into filmmaking, Meera is gearing up to release a number of projects under her banner Meera Films and Media House. “Work on the projects will begin in the coming months. I’m working on the scripts and equipment and that’s what has kept me busy,” she said.
The actor has also been working on laying the groundwork of a charitable hospital for cardio patients in Sialkot. “I’m considered as a celebrity due to my hard work. I’m an ambassador of Pakistan everywhere I go and am willing to represent my country on any platform,” she added. On the personal front, she is also planning on hosting the valima ceremony of her brother Ahsan in Lahore.

It was earlier reported that Meera was issued a non-bailable arrest warrant after she failed to appear for court hearings regarding a case filed by her alleged former husband Atiqur Rehman. The court ordered that Meera should be arrested and presented in court on September 17 in the ongoing case.
In his application, Rehman had claimed that Meera married another man before legally divorcing him first. “I hadn’t divorced Meera but she had gone ahead and married a second time,” Rehman had told the court in his statement.
Last month, a civil judge had issued arrest warrants for Meera on the application filed by her ‘self-proclaimed’ husband. The judge had ordered Defence-A police to produce her before the court on the next date of hearing.
