Meera denies getting any warrants after speaking to The Express Tribune exclusively

In his application, Meera’s husband claimed the actress married another man before legally divorcing him first. “She is committing fornication. It is against Islam and the law of Pakistan,” he said.

Attique told the court to register an FIR against her under relevant provision of the law.

Earlier, Attique had filed another application for Meera to be medically tested to confirm that she is a virgin, which was dismissed in April 2011.

As per details, a jactitation of marriage suit was filed by Meera against her alleged husband contending that their wedding pictures and marriage certificate produced by Atique were fake. Meera alleged that he did all of this in a bid to gain cheap publicity.

Later, Atique filed two applications in the court, one to seek Meera’s medical test and the other to check the status of the house in which Meera was living. He claimed that the house in which Meera was living in belonged to him.

Meanwhile, Atique’s counsel has sent a legal notice to Meera regarding a private TV channel programme, Kon Bnay ga Meera ka Patti. He contended in his notice that yet the court had to decide the jactitation of the marriage suit.

Meera’s version of events

On the other hand, while speaking to The Express Tribune exclusively, Meera said that she hadn’t received any notices from the courts.

“If high court has sent notices I don’t know about that. Moreover, my lawyer Ali Sibtain doesn’t know about it. What the news is about? Tell me. No notice has been issued,” Meera said.

Remaining elusive about the latest report surfacing in the media, that her arrest warrant been issued by Lahore High Court on the instructions of her husband, Meera claimed, “I have no idea about it. He has been blackmailing me for the past five years. He is a blackmailer, who demanded I hand him over Rs3 crore. He should be sentenced instead. This must be another tactic of his to get fame. Also he is getting wrong publicity,” Meera said.

“I don’t know him. I don’t know him. He is a fraudulent person. He is a criminal. Totally a fraud case. Fraud person. If there is a statement from his end, I know nothing of it,” she said.
