The DCO said Rs100 million would be spent on the project.
He said services of engineers of the Pakistan Sports Board had been sought for the project.
He said tenders from international firms had been invited to provide the synthetic track. He said the project would be completed within six months.
The DCO said Faisalabad’s youth were talented in athletics. He said national and international competitions would be organised in Faisalabad once the track was built. The DCO Shahbaz Sharif Park and Sports Stadium was being set up on 131 kanals at Firdous Colony.
