Polio campaign kicks off in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

PESHAWAR: A 3 day immunization campaign against polio has started in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the tribal areas on Tuesday.

Provincial health ministry said that the 3 day drive aims to vaccinate 5.5 million children.

Fourteen thousand special teams will go from door-to-door to give children under the age of 5 polio vaccinations.

In Abbotabad and Haripur, the initiation of the campaign has been delayed till the May 3, owing to law and order concerns.

The campaign will not be conducted in Orakzai Agency, South Waziristan, Khyber and Mohmand Agency due to the ongoing military offensive.
