ISLAMABAD:

On the request of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) has hinted at withdrawing the resolution seeking ouster of the 28 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers, who remained absent from the National Assembly for over 40 days.

A team of the government negotiators, headed by Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid, met the JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to convince him to take back the move.

According to reports, JUI-F will announce its decision during the National Assembly session today (Thursday), which is also the day set for voting on the unseating resolutions of  JUI-F and MQM.

However, the offer is conditional as the JUI-F wants to submit a fresh resolution and in case the resolution is adopted unanimously, the JUI-F will withdraw its earlier resolution against the PTI.
