FAISALABAD:

The district administration on Tuesday sealed a flour mill after dengue larvae were discovered on the premises.

A spokesman of the city district government said that an inspection team, headed by DCO Noorul Amin Mengal, had visited Usman Flour Mill on Jhang Road. “The mill administration had not followed the standard operating procedures issued by the government for dengue prevention. During the inspection, the team found dengue larvae in the storage yard,” he said. The DCO directed the officials to file a case against the mill owner.

The DCO also suspended from duty the Union Council 262 secretary Tariq Javed for failing to drain stagnant water from a graveyard located on Jhang Road.

Mengal also reprimanded the administration for not removing water from flower pots. He warned them that stern action would be taken against them if they did not follow the instructions issued by the government to prevent mosquito breeding.

Separately, cases were registered against six shopkeepers and junkyard owners for not maintaining cleanliness.
