The Punjab government has approved Rs120 million for replacing old water supply lines in the Rawalpindi city.


According to an official in the district government, all water supply lines passing through the city will be replaced within two years after the funds have been allocated to phase out the old ones.


He said that the water supply lines were laid in 1962 and most of them have got damaged and leaking owing to digging by different service providers.


WASA MD Raja Shoukat Mehmood said that the authority has included water supply schemes in its annual budget and the provincial government has approved the budget in this regrad. He further said that all damaged and leaked water supply lines will be replaced with in two years.

Mohammad Baig | 8 years ago | Reply It would be a big joke and misusing of the funds if the water lines are not given the standard of at least equal to sui gas supply lines ensuring the leakage at the rate of 99.99% safe.
