PESHAWAR:
Two women were killed while another was kidnapped in separate incidents in the city.
Faiza was found dead near the Northern Bypass in Paharipura. The deceased’s brother Sher Zaman, a resident of Mardan, told police his sister, a mother of two, was allegedly killed by her husband Inayat Khan.
On Tuesday, Inayat took Faiza for a picnic in Sardayab and shot her dead. “We have no idea what happened. We received a phone call from the police informing us that Faiza had been killed and her body was lying at a roadside,” he stated in the FIR. Police is investigating the case.
Another woman was allegedly killed by her husband in Asfand Dheri refugee camp, located on the outskirts of the city. Police said Darwesh killed his wife Sabar Gula Bibi with the help of his father Fayyaz. “Sabar was a resident of Faqirabad and the two had married just four months ago. They were not on good terms, and three days ago an argument turned into a fight between the couple and Darwesh’s father Fayyaz,” said a Mathra police official. He added the accused have since been on the run. An investigation is under way.
