Let off: Three murder suspects acquitted
Irshad was initially accused of killing Mumtaz Bibi in 2012
LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions judge acquitted two murder suspects on Wednesday, giving them the benefit of doubt. Iqbal and Imran were accused of killing Din Muhammad.
The complainant had said Iqbal and Imran had wanted to grab Din Muhammad’s property. The judge acquitted them of murder. Another additional district and sessions judge acquitted a murder suspect on Wednesday after prosecution witnesses said he wasn’t the actual assailant. Irshad was initially accused of killing Mumtaz Bibi in 2012. The complainants had initially said that the suspect had wanted illicit relations with Mumtaz Bibi but she had refused. Complainant Liaquat Ali and his daughter Nabeela, who were witnesses for the prosecution, told the court that Irshad wasn’t the actual suspect and they had no objections to his acquittal.
