Anti-Dengue Drive: Campaign under way in affected UCs

Ahmed said citizens are also responsible for preventing the disease by adopting the necessary measures of cleanliness

RAWALPINDI:
As part of the district health department’s ongoing anti-dengue drive, surveillance and fumigation continues in 46 union councils (UC) of the city. Specific attention is being paid to UCs declared high-risk last year. District Health Dengue Campaign In-charge Dr Tahir Ahmed said 88 anti-dengue teams and 20 supervisors are deployed at the union council level. He said his teams on Wednesday fumigated areas of UCs one, two, four and nine. Ahmed said citizens are also responsible for preventing the disease by adopting the necessary measures of cleanliness, including the prevention of water stagnation. He also warned of stern action against staff found negligent in performing their duties during the campaign, which is expected to continue till October.
