Not finger-licking good: Eateries sealed over rotten food

The vegetables used in burgers were stale and spoiled

PESHAWAR: The district administration sealed another prominent restaurant on Monday for selling substandard food and not maintaining hygienic environment. A team led by Peshawar Assistant Commissioner Shahana raided Jani Cones and  Four Seasons Fast Food restaurant located in Saddar, after receiving multiple complaints about the unhygienic conditions and use of substandard ingredients. During inspection, the team found rotten and expired food items being sold to customers. “The vegetables used in burgers were stale and spoiled,” remarked Feroz Shah, spokesperson of the district government. The district government also fined five star hotel Pearl Continental as well as Pizza Hut for similar reasons.
