ISLAMABAD: The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will conduct practical exams of the FSc programme for Autumn Semester 2014 from July 23 to August 12. Roll number slips have been sent by post to all the students, said a press release.

The schedule of exams has also been placed at the university’s website. The students have been divided in two groups. The practical exams of the first group are scheduled to take place from 9am to 12pm while the timing for the second group would be from 2pm to 5pm.

Meanwhile, the university has inducted an office files management system in its daily working for smooth and efficient handling of administrative matters. The new system called AIOU Dak Management System is operated through computer software to promote the concept of good governance, said AIOU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Shahid Siddiqui.

The software helps to check the status of a file. Deliberate delaying of routine matters is not possible with the new arrangement, he added.  The web-based software has been developed by AIOU’s directorate of information and communication technology.
