Disaster management: RCCI, Rescue 1122 join hands to train traders
MoUs signed to train traders and industrialists to avert disasters.

A ceremony in this regard was held at the RCCI here on Monday, in which RCCI President S. Ali Raza Saeed Shah, Rescue 1122 Director General Rizwan Naseer, Rawalpindi Development Authority Director General (DG RDA) Makeen Shahbaz, Station Commander Brig Zaman Nasarullah Khan Niazi, District Coordination Officer (DCO) Amdadullah Bosal, RCCI Senior Vice President Mian Muhammad Ateeq, Vice President Dr. Shimail Daud and other members of the Executive Committee were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, RCCI President S. Ali Raza Saeed Shah said that Rescue 1122 was the country’s only professional rescue service. He said that RCCI paid tribute to the 13 members of Rescue 1122, “Who lost their lives to save many lives”, in the Gakhar Plaza disaster. He further said that the basic purpose behind the MoU was to train the business community to avoid such incidents in future.
He said that RCCI always worked for the betterment of the business community and in future no stone would be left unturned in this regard.
Rescue 1122 DG Rizwan Naseer said that 1122 has the capability to cope with any emergency. He said that 1122 was the country’s only trained and professional rescue service.
He felt the MoU would be beneficial for the whole community to prevent their loved one from any untoward situation. He lauded the role of RCCI in capacity building of the members. He further said that 1122 and RCCI would jointly organize training programmes, seminars and workshops to create awareness among the masses, especially among the businessmen community.
