Park and ride: Chief minister to open plaza on Dec 22

LAHORE: Park and Ride plaza will be inaugurated by the chief minister, Mian Shahbaz Sharif, on Wednesday, December 22.

The parking plaza is constructed at the Bank Alfalah round about near Liberty Market. The 11 story plaza will accommodate some 300 vehicles.

The plaza has been completed with a total cost of Rs0.67 billion and contains 85 shops and two restaurants. A Lahore Development Authority official said that the auction of these shops will be held shortly after the inauguration of the plaza.

A free of charge transport service from the plaza to the Liberty market will be given to the shoppers who park their vehicles in the plaza.

The chief minister has announced that 12 more parking plazas will be constructed in different parts of the city.

The 12 areas are Moon Market, Allama Iqbal Town, Neela Gumbad, Anarkali, Shah Alam Market, District Courts, Liberty Market, Model Town, Ichhra Market, outside Masti Gate, outside Lohari Gate and outside Mochi Gate.
