Motorway cop shot dead by brother
Injured officer was being shifted to hospital for medical treatment but succumbed to his injuries on way

A man allegedly shot and killed his elder brother, a Motorway Police inspector, following a domestic dispute in the Jaranwala area of Faisalabad, police said on Monday.
The incident occurred in Chak 99-GB within the jurisdiction of Sadar Jaranwala police station. According to initial reports, Abdul Salam, had a heated argument at home with his 55-year-old brother, Inspector Mian Atif, who was serving in the Motorway Police.
Police said the argument escalated, and Abdul Salam allegedly opened fire on his brother with a pistol, critically injuring him before fleeing the scene.
The injured officer was being shifted to hospital for medical treatment but succumbed to his injuries on the way.
Upon receiving information, senior police officials reached the scene and shifted the body to a hospital for postmortem examination.
After completion of legal formalities, the body was handed over to the family.
Police claimed the suspect is reportedly addicted to "ice" (crystal methamphetamine). Authorities have registered a case and launched raids to arrest the accused, who remains at large.
Police officials said further investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances that led to the fatal shooting.
