LAHORE:

The dream of a united Muslim League seems a distant reality despite active and dedicated efforts by senior leaders. Sources close to the party quoted the chief of the Muslim League-Functional, Pir Pagara, as saying that such efforts will remain futile unless they have the green signal from the establishment. Ghous Ali Shah, Zulfiqar Khosa and Hamid Nasir Chattha have been hapless in this regard and hinted on expediting their efforts after Eidul Fitr.

According to the information gathered by the Express Investigation Cell, Pir Pagara, Ghous Ali Shah, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa and many others held a meeting with former military ruler Pervez Musharraf in Karachi. The meeting deliberated in detail the setting up of a united Muslim League minus PML-N. However, Pir Pagara and the spiritual leader of Hurs was of the view that all such efforts will not bear any fruit unless they have support from the establishment.

Sources revealed that a proposal for forming a grand alliance was also floated during this meeting but no progress could be made on this as well.

It was also revealed that Sardar Khosa wanted quick progress on the unification of Muslim Leagues and that he travelled to Karachi to visit Pir Pagara, but after three to four days of stay in the city, he had to return back to Lahore without meeting him.
