Heinous crime: Woman, boy assaulted

The Saddar SHO said an FIR had been registered on Ali’s complaint

FAISALABAD:
A woman and a boy were assaulted in two incidents on Sunday. Anwar Ali told police in his complaint that his, a resident of Chak 40-JB, was taking food for her husband working in the fields when she was abducted by a man in the neighbourhood. He said she was taken to a sugarcane field and raped. He said the man abandoned her there and fled. The Saddar SHO said an FIR had been registered on Ali’s complaint. He said a police team had been formed to apprehend the suspect. He said further action would be taken after the medico-legal report was available. Separately, a 10-year-old boy was assaulted by a neighbour in Farooqabad. The Peoples Colony SHO told The Express Tribune that the boy had been abducted from a playground and assaulted at a deserted house. He said police had registered an FIR under Section 377 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and had started investigation. He said police had arrested the suspect in a raid.
