Helping the deprived: CM approves financial aid for Baba Bhit, Shams Peer islands and Lyari
Funds will be distributed among poverty-stricken people to help meet their Eid expenses.

Chief Minister (CM) Qaim Ali Shah has sanctioned Rs25 million to provide financial assistance to the needy residents of Baba Bhit and Shams Peer island and Rs15 million for Lyari, to help them meet their expenditures during last Ashra of Ramazan and Eid.
The CM also sanctioned Rs1.7 billion for the distribution of Rs1,000 each among the 1.7 million families, at a meeting at CM House on Friday. He directed the provincial finance department to get the no-objection certificate from the income support programme for the distribution of this amount among the people registered under it in Sindh.
Shah said that the inhabitants of the Baba Bhit are poor people and Sindh government wanted to share their Ramazan and Eid expenditures by providing financial assistance. The district West deputy commissioner said that as many as 1,985 beneficiaries have been identified and verified so far at Baba Bhit and Shams Peer islands. Shah directed the officers to distribute the amount among the recipients through cheques before Eidul Fitr.
Shah also formed a committee to identify and prepare a list of the poor residents in Lyari.
