US Consulate General employees in Karachi enjoy savouring Pakistani delicacies as well as learning about fasting

Employees of the US Consulate General in Karachi revelled in a traditional Iftar with a Pakistani family during the holy month of Ramazan.

The US Consulate General in Karachi shared pictures of the feast on their Facebook wall. It was the first time they were having iftar with a Pakistani family and they enjoyed savouring Pakistani delicacies as well as learning about the tradition of fasting.

"We loved sharing and celebrating these traditions with our Pakistani friends!" the post added.

The US officials found waiting for iftar "very difficult, but it taught us patience and perseverance."

While the employees waited for the fast to open, they discussed Eid plans with the family.

They were treated to samosas, pakoras, jalebis and other Pakistani dishes.

The kids joined their elders for prayers before Iftar.
