Payback time: Two alleged extortionists arrested

They threatened him of dire consequences if he failed to pay

PESHAWAR:
The counter-terrorism department (CTD) arrested two alleged extortionists during a raid on Charsadda Road. Afghan refugees Hizbullah and Mohibullah had demanded extortion—Rs1 million—from a local trader Muhammad Bashir, resident of Faqirabad, over the telephone. They threatened him of dire consequences if he failed to pay. CTD registered an FIR and located the two accused in a neighbourhood near Charsadda Road. The detainees were put behind bars. Further investigation is under way.
