Pakistani and Indian security forces on Sunday exchanged fire at the working boundary near Sialkot in a latest sign of tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that Indian Border Security Force (BSF) resorted to ‘unprovoked’ firing in Charwah Sector.
“Pakistan Rangers are befittingly responding to India’s unprovoked firing,” said the statement as the exchange of fire continued till the filing of this report.

However, there were no reports of casualties from either side.
The latest exchange of fire comes amid reports that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi may meet later this week at the sidelines of Shangai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Russia.
Earlier on April 16, BSF resorted to unprovoked shelling but their guns fell silent after Pakistan Rangers effectively returned fire.
