The district administration has barred pickup passenger vans from entering the Murree Road, sparking protests from transporters. The decision is part of the public transport route changes after the launch of the metro bus service in the twin cities. New routes aim to feed the metro line on Murree Road instead of running parallel with it. Suzuki transporters have been told to use Committee Chowk, Rawal Road, Chandi Chowk and Sadiqababd. Transporters say the route change will affect their businesses and have demanded that their old routes be restored.
