Smuggling Through Rivers : Specialised force set up

The force will be of much help in dealing with criminals and weapon smugglers

RAWALPINDI: Punjab government has set up a maritime force to stop smuggling and illegal businesses through rivers and streams across Punjab. Initially, 1,000 personnel have been inducted and are being trained at the Sihala police college. Sihala police college commandant Syed Ali Mohsin said that the unit will monitor smuggling and illegal transportation through rivers in Punjab. “The force will be of much help in dealing with criminals and weapon smugglers,” he said. The force will be provided with motor boats, weapons and other equipment to deal with the smugglers.
