High-level capture: Pro-govt militant commander arrested

PESHAWAR: Law enforcement agencies late on Thursday night arrested Munsif Afridi, a top commander of a pro-government militant group from his house in Bar Qambar Khel, Khyber Agency. Officials in political administration confirmed the arrest of Munsif Afridi but said, “we will get his custody on coming Monday. So far Munsif Afridi is in possession of other law enforcing agencies and we cannot say about charges framed against him.” Belonging to Bara Khyber Agency, Munsif Afridi is counted amongst highly educated militants. He is not only poet and editor of a Pushto newsletter but had also served a Peshawar-based Pushto newspaper as its reporter and subeditor. Associated with pro-government militant group Amar Bil Maroof Wa Nahi Anil Munkar, Munsif Afridi had remained in custody of a law enforcing agency some four years ago.
