PESHAWAR: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has collected details of non-custom paid vehicles used by employees of various government departments.

According to a handout issued on Thursday, the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Excise and Taxation department obtained these details following directives from the federal and provincial government.

“The department has collected details on non-custom paid vehicles used by government employees in the province, Federally Administered Tribal Areas and Provincially Administered Tribal Areas,” it added.

Furthermore, the government has been provided data of all non-custom paid vehicles impounded by police. The department has also shared the names of people who have been arrested in this regard.

Speaking to The Express Tribune, a department official said a majority of people were arrested for using government number plates on these vehicles.
