June 24, 2015

You know its summers when slipping into a skinny jeans seems like a nightmare. Before tucking your denims into some corner throughout the unfriendly weather, you should know there are many smart ways to reinvent your style.

Be it cut, cropped, embroidered or patch worked, you can easily switch gears from casual to formal by pairing up with the right kind of add-ons. Following are the seven coolest denim trends that you can follow this sweltering season, as compiled from The Times of India.

Boyfriend Jeans

It’s that time of the year when you can easily hide the extra flab without sporting flowy tops. Grab a pair of oversized jeans. It might have been a last season fashion trend, but you can always be a trend-setter by replacing it with your own perfect pair. Boyfriend jeans are not only comfortable but they also come in ripped form that acts as breathing holes for your legs, keeping it cool and casual.

Capris

Capri pants are your ultimate summer wardrobe staple. Many of us think that capris distort your shape and make your legs look short, but the truth is that a right kind of capri can complement your figure. Capris with a higher waist makes your legs appear longer. Avoid the ones with big side pockets. Instead of buying cotton capris, opt for denim ones. It touches your ankle yet keeps you cool.

Skirts

Since skirts have been the latest fashion trend from high-street to runways, its perfect time to flaunt one as they enable the flow of air. Midi and long skirts in denims are easy on the eye and very summery. You can always pair it up with a white top to keep you cool this summer. Nothing can be more enticing than a denim skirt, which drapes below your knees and flaunts a front slit. Worn with long side-swept hair, it can really make you look rather coy.

Distressed Jeans

Distressed jeans can be worn both in a casual or sophisticated way. Gaping crisscross cuts across the knees and calves let the air in. This style will always be very street-wear fashion and always hip. You can find a variety of ripped jeans in the market that ranges from slight rips and cuts, to those with only the knee exposed or extreme rips.

Chambray Pants

Light and airy chambray pants and another summer essential. Technically these don’t really qualify as jeans, but who says you can’t cheat a little? Simply by virtue of their colour you can pretend they are jeans. From a loose and relaxed dress to preppy button-down shirt, chambray fabric is all you need this summer.

Dungarees

Denim dungarees comes across as unflattering and baggy pairs that was usually a 90s trend. But they have been replaced by skinny and tapered versions over the past few years. This is one versatile piece, which can be given a formal or casual twist with a smart use of accessories. Worn with large loop earrings, it can look quite dressy.

Jumpsuits

Be it cotton or denim, jumpsuits are having their moment right now. The comfortable stretch denim with slim legs will modernise your silhouette for this season. Explore your feminine side with a jumpsuit in three-fourths length, whose upper half is a jacket and lower part is like a loose capris, meant for utter comfort of the wearer.
