Rigging claim: Lawyer to conclude arguments today

PTI’s counsel Anees Ali Hashmi told the court that some 45,000 votes cast in the constituency were invalid

LAHORE: An election tribunal adjourned hearing on a petition challenging the NA-122 election result after the petitioner’s counsel concluded their final arguments on Monday. Counsel for National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, the respondent, will make his final arguments on Tuesday (today). Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI)’s counsel Anees Ali Hashmi told the court that some 45,000 votes cast in the constituency were invalid.  He said the confusion over the verification of counterfoils had been cleared by the commission formed by the tribunal. He said according to its report, the ECP did not have correct data.
