Beggars will be arrested begging outside malls, mosques, imambargahs and main roads according to this campaign

The Islamabad Police have decided to launch campaign against professional alm-seekers during Ramazan, said a press release issued on Monday. Those indulged in begging outside shopping centres, mosques, imambargahs and at main roads and traffic signals would be arrested under the campaign. SSP Sajid Kiani has asked patrolling officers to take action against professional alm-seekers in their respective jurisdictions and directed them to maintain high vigilance. He said special vigilance is required at timings of prayers and taraweeh and said effective safety measures should be adopted at worship places, shopping centres and other important locations. The SSP asked SPs to supervise policing measures themselves in their respective areas and issue further directions for improvement.
