ISLAMABAD:
Islamabad IGP Tahir Alam has terminated a police official for misusing authority.
ASI Talat Mehmood of Golra Police Station was found guilty of corruption by an inquiry. The inquiry was constituted on the complaint of Mohammad Tufail, who said the official illegally kept his brother and two cousins in custody and released them after taking a bribe.
The complainant said Mehmood not only tortured his relatives but also took Rs45,000 as a bribe for releasing them. On the basis of the inquiry, the IG dismissed Mehmood.
