Lakson tobacco legal adviser shot dead

62-year-old lawyer, Kamil Khan, was gunned down outside his house while returning from work.

KARACHI: A legal adviser for the Lakson Tobacco Company was shot dead on Thursday night within the limits of Sharae Noor Jehan police station. North Nazimabad SP Zafar Iqbal confirmed the murder and said that initial reports suggest that he was killed for resisting a robbery.

SHO Mohammad Masroor said the 62-year-old lawyer, Kamil Khan, was gunned down outside his house while returning from work. The officer said the incident took place when he parked his car outside his house located in Sector 14-B, No. 2 Shadman Town.

According to the officer, an unidentified man came and tried to rob him off his briefcase and other valuables and when Khan resisted, he was shot in the head. He was taken to a private hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. Later, his body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities. “We reached the site after the locals informed us about the firing incident in the locality,” said SHO Masroor. The police found the victim’s wallet from the crime scene. No case was registered till the filing of this story.
