LAHORE:
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah has come out in support of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), saying the party supported democracy during the dharna movement, Express News reported on Wednesday.

While he lauded the prime minister’s decision to cancel his meeting with PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, the minister called for harmony between the political forces of the country.

“It is not the responsibility of law enforcement agencies to probe white-collar crimes,” he said while addressing newsmen outside Punjab Assembly building.

Rana went on to add that curbing white-collar crimes or highlighting the inefficiency of the political government is the responsibility of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), an independent institution, working under the Constitution.

“The law enforcement institutions may help NAB in its work but they must not take the responsibility in their own hands since it does not give a good impression when such institutions conduct press conferences.”

In response to a question, the PML-N leader said the dharna movement was aimed at pushing the country into darkness.
