Three suspected criminals were killed in an exchange of fire with the police near Maula Madad graveyard within the jurisdiction of Quaidabad police station.


Police officials said that the encounter took place when the three suspects, riding a motorcycle, were looting passersby, adding that the police personnel on a routine patrol reached the site. The culprits opened fire at the police, attempting to escape. The latter followed them and killed all three in the resultant exchange of fire.


Separately, two more suspected criminals were killed during an exchange of fire with the police near the New Sabzi Mandi area along the Super Highway.


Officials said that the encounter took place when the police tried to intercept the suspects who were riding a motorcycle when they passed a snap checking point, adding that the culprits opened fire at the police and tried to escape, instead of stopping. The police fired back, killing both the suspects.
