Section 144 has been imposed in Islamabad to help implement the Energy Conservation Drive announced by the government.
The drive calls for all markets to be closed by 8pm to conserve power and counter electricity shortage in the country.
Officials said the police have been directed to ensure the markets' closure and take stern action against anyone who violates the order.
