LAHORE: Three people, including an infant, died in a roof collapse in Bhati Gate on Monday. A duty officer at the Bhati Gate police station told The Express Tribune that roof of the second floor of the house located in Mohalla Jalotian had collapsed, bringing down roofs of first and ground floor as well. A Rescue official said the building had been dilapidated. He said water from last night’s rain had seeped into the roof where the family had kept some furniture.  A Rescue 1122 official said neighbours had started the rescue work by the time Rescue team arrived at the scene. He said Muhammad Khalid, his two-year-old daughter Fizza, and his sister-in-law Maryam had died when they were removed from the debris. Naureen, 40, and two other residents  were moved to a hospital where their condition was reported to be critical.
